What's covered in Applied Data Analytics and Visualization?

As a data analytics post-grad student at Sheridan, you'll learn how to gather and interpret data to get valuable insights and make smart strategic decisions. You'll develop your skills in storytelling through data, by visualizing your findings for non-expert audiences, and you'll gain experience with AI-powered analytics tools to identify patterns and predict trends.

You'll develop your skills in statistical analysis, decision making, project management, AI and machine learning, and more.

Sheridan offers three pathways for this program, to ensure you develop your skills on a timetable that works best for you.

  • Two semesters: Core subject-matter content, with a focus on getting you into the workforce quickly
  • Three semesters: Includes a co-op placement so you can experience working with business data first-hand
  • Four semesters: Best choice for international students. Covers Canadian business practices and structures, includes a co-op or workplace simulation learning experience, and allows graduates to pursue a post-graduation work permit (PGWP)

Who's eligibile to apply for data analytics at Sheridan?

Normally, students require a post-secondary diploma, advanced diploma, or degree in business, applied computing, information technology, computer science, or equivalent fields — see full list on the Sheridan site.

However, applicants with demonstrated competence earned through education and/or work experience may also be selected, based on academic achievement and relevant work experience, as determined by Sheridan staff.
